HOLISTIC PSYCHIATRY
As a psychiatrist, the vast majority of my practice is prescribing medications. However the longer I have been in practice the more I have been humbled and have come to realize that treatment of most psychiatric conditions is complex. I truly believe that it takes various combinations of family support, healthy lifestyle, medications, psychotherapy, regular exercise, meditation, yoga, work, creative endeavors and spirituality for lasting recovery.

Holistic treatment is also interpreted by some people as naturalistic treatment. However , I am not an expert in alternative medicine or natural supplements.
RECOVERY
SAMHSA defines recovery as “A process of change through which individuals improve their health and wellness, live a self-directed life and strive to reach their full potential”. The four main dimensions of recovery are health, home, purpose and community. I believe that regardless of the condition or prognosis, recovery is always possible..
EVIDENCE BASED CARE
I will usually stay within nationally recognized algorithms and treatment recommendations, making exceptions only in patients with poor response to standards treatments.
